Cor of Ar, comes to speak to the Poets

Cor Tarrant made his way back towards the gate, his forehead glistening with beads of sweat that lingered along his crown. His narrowed eyes incessantly took in his surroundings, a trait honed into him since his childhood. "Ho there, Alars!" he called out, though he knew well the early ahns would have more than a few folks sleeping at the moment. Cor looked around appreciatively, though there was a slight grimace as to the rustic appearance of their camp.

Jaym Wolfhunter 's hands cupped to HIs mouth...and a bellow of some volume was heard..."You are seen by the wagons...come traveller.." He cried...for it was not uncommon for there to be visitors to the Laager...these were not the Turian plains...and many were those who came to hawk their wares and sell their information to the Noble Alar...

[04:51]  Jaym Wolfhunter chuckled to this and retort came on swift feet..."Id speak to you of wheels...and their turning...but My Logic...as the do the Wheels of the Wagons of the Alar...crush the world that impedes them" He said..."I do not see perhaps, culture as you see it...unless in the broadest sense..." He said with a dismissive wave of His paw..."But that is a discussion for paga and fist fights...and I am in no mood for either" He said honestly..."As for your interest in poetry..especially Alar Poetry...well, shows you a Man of good taste" He said...and then did He turn to His mate...lovely in her natural beauty...He spoke..."Kanda...this, is Cor of the city of Ar...Cor, this...is My Mate...Mother of My Son called Sorath...and Lore Keeper of the Laager..." He said...

[04:55]  Cor Tarrant (trenzos.dyrssen) noticed the woman and her son. He dipped his head to them in polite fashion. "Tal," he replied back, unsure if Lady was a title that constitued an insult or a praise. Perhaps it was all about the intentions, he mused. Flicking his gaze back to Jaym, he stroked his beard, looking thoughtful at the man's words. "Such is the Alar's way, I know, I know," he said, shaking his head. "I have studied the various cultures that are prevalent beyond the caste society I hail from. Each to their own. But I concur with your mood." He placed a hand on his chest and turned back to regard Kanda as the introductions were made. "Lore Keeper?" he queried. "Doubtless you would know more stories in prose, a fashion I am more interested in than verse. Well met, Kanda. The poems though must be sung loud. Loud enough to perhaps bring about a certain wall of rhyme that would be able to fend off people who...do not patronise the Arts." He looked to Jaym expectantly.

[04:58]  Kanda (kanda.veeper) had no idea what the topic of the day was thus far. It did seem to be everything from ease of wagon movement to war to arts all in the same breath. Always did a smile cross her lips to her her Mate speak her name..and then some. "It's a pleasure to meet you Cor of Ar. Have to say it's lovely to see a visitor up here from behind those walls. I..dont exactly do stories in anything more than straight word. " she turned a little blankly to her Mate. "You...do not want me singing.." and she did have to admit any attempt to do that would fend off some. Mountain larls..maybe. She watches her Mate slip into thought and sighs "So...you come up here ...for art?" she then asks their guest.

[05:02]  Cor Tarrant (trenzos.dyrssen) leaned forwards as Kanda spoke, nodding his head at the various appropriate moments. He then pursed his lips and studied the woman before him. "I am a scholar, first and foremost," he explained. "Certain legends I study and attempt to incorporate them into present day. You would be surprised just how many legends have a sliver of truth in it. So I have taken the vocation of travelling around and accounting the various legends of various cultures. When I met Jaym here in Ar, he told me he was a poet. I know well the nature of the Alars and their poetry is...certainly deep. Deep enough to perhaps store legends and myths." He paused, hmming aloud for a moment. "And to be sure, I am a patron of the Arts," he added unnecessarily.

[05:09 AM]  Kanda Veeper leaned forward with their guest and wraps her arms around her knees. There was always this feeling that came over her when she spoke with the educated sorts from cities. She was most certainly not one of them but knew that in her own right, she was quite leaned. "Well i at least, am no scholar. I am quite sure i have my work in life because i happen to be able to read and write at all. If you seek legends of any sort though.." she sticks a thumb toward her Mate and gives a sage nod "He..was born one..in every sense that there could be one..." and she looked at the handsome face marked by scars "I am a patron of the Him. Arts are well and good too though."

[05:17 AM]  Jaym Wolfhunter 's merriment was plain in His eyes...words were given birth as His lips parted..."There are some poems, that come in the form of epic tales...and some poems that come in the form of shouted ire...it depends I think, on the mood of the composer...and the mood of the world around Him...or Her" He said...a low nudge light was given to His mates side..."Women I think are the greatest of poets..." the Alar Chieftain said without much pause...it was a strange thing to hear on a world such as Gor...but perhaps true...or at least true enough for an Alar..."For from within them...do they give life to a poem that exists past her mouth or hand...past even her life..." He said..."If, she is lucky" He added

[05:23 AM]  Trenzos Dyrssen arched an eyebrow slightly and looked between the two. He leaned forwards even more and rubbed his palms together before facing it towards the fire. "I am unsure how gender is taken into account of poetry," he said in a refined voice. "Unless you are referring to the passers of knowledge, catering it along through oral correspondence which perpetuates the content and immortalises it. Though, in the telling certain changes or distortions are apt to be made." A scribe would possibly never be able to accept oral communication as a genuine one. He then dipped his head to Kanda. "But to be sure, do not assume my words are contrary to what Jaym says. Doubtless the voice of women are more pleasant than the rough baritone of men. Still..." He turned back to Jaym. "Poems are needed and as such, their value is not yet accounted for. Especially when they will be propagated to other cities to provide awareness of the Arts."

[05:26 AM]  Kanda Veeper nearly let out a laugh but instead the colour and smile upon her face rise to truer rouge an greater warmth. She was rather a fan of the poetry that came from ire...and the sort that was driven by pure unbridled passion. Really it was from the same heart though. To the nudge she instantly slips the palm of her hand over the toe of His boot and she did think that with those words, they did bare witness to art. At least it was art as she saw it "I think that right there was one of the more beautiful things i have heard said...and i am the luckiest woman around..so.." she turns to their guest with a waggle of her brows. He seemed to have a much more ..serious mind on poetry than the Alar did though. "I hope your words are not contrary to His or i might have to take offence...and then my mood and poems would all be soured..and that , dear man of Ar...would be a tragedy of artistic proportions. "

[05:27 AM]  Jaym Wolfhunter 's barking laughter was heard...His hand smote His thigh and He spoke..."You see...You are not an Alar...For I speak of a life as a poem...and they...these women fine...are the creators of it!" He said...it was a solitary tear of merriment that gathered at the corner of His eye...it was dislodged with a calloused finger...and that finger wiped on the tunic of rough fabric that hung on His shoulders...His eyes turned to His mate...and then back to the fellow of Ar..."But I know of which you speak...the Poems of the world given voice by tongue...and not by deed or thought" ...His laughter laced voice then stilled..."Alar Poems...those spoke to those with ears to hear...are surely great...sold at times...depending on the nature of the telling...for as much as a gold tarn" He said..."and still...the price I think is too low" He mused...

[05:33 AM]  Trenzos Dyrssen watched the exchange like a detached figure, taking in the small, subtle nuances between them. He smiled thin at Kanda's remark and he dipped his head to her once more. "A tragedy indeed, though hope is always a lucrative emotion that tends to usually provide determination," he replied. Jaym's sudden laughter though made him narrow his eyes. However, his angered face was washed away by the smile that adorned his lips. "Now that you mention it, but I consider life more than just a poem, but a saga of prose, one that is actually represented by the game of kaissa. Still, the price of your poems...a gold tarn. I will need to constantly hear your poems, so perhaps a rate of a gold tarn per every month." He paused and then parted his lips, scratching his cheek casually. "Although...just how well will you recite your poem to others? Will there be any...complications to those who perhaps appreciate your art but desire not to hear it?"

[05:34 AM]  Kanda Veeper turned back toward her Mate and after that statement it would be a few ehn before she would be able to pull her eyes away. She could hear their own creation out playing with the other children still..and it sounded like He was winning whatever game they played. Naturally. Her hand wrapped around the toe of His boot squeezes a bit harder. If only a squeeze could be properly translated into the gratitude and pure adoration she did feel. "Perhaps with their new tax cuts..the good people of Ar can actually afford the well formed words of the Alar.." then she too ponders if there would be any ..complications. Did strike her that far more would wish to hear their words...than not, though.

[05:38 AM]  Jaym Wolfhunter scratched idly at the side of His face...He responded at first to the question..."Once...there was a fellow who asked of a Poem...He did not appreciate the complex simplicity of it...and thought to refuse payment...Now, mind you...He was infact drunk...and of ill mind...So...I for a short time, made the fellow bereft of conciousness...and then as is right and just...lightened His purse ...with interest" the Chieftain mused..."But that was in My youth...and I have little need for such now...I have even...in My noble and generous nature...gifted a poem upon a couple of fine folks of this world" He said...then scratching at His face did He ponder some..."as for how well are they recited...they are recited by an Alar...the quality of such telling is not something that needs worry over" He said "and you seem a fine fellow...Cor of Ar...I can see no foreseeable complications" He added..."Too...the price seems a good one...I cannot begrudge you your thrift...you are after all...not an Alar" He said to the Man

[05:43 AM]  Trenzos Dyrssen smiled openly and dipped his head to him. "You are a gracious man, Jaym of the Alars," he said. "Then we have a deal. And now I can speak plainly with you." He paused though, mainly due to his dramatic manners. "When I call for your aid, you shall provide it to me, Cor of Ar. A time wil come when that will occur. But I need you to understand that the Ubarate of Ar is not the one paying you. I, Cor of Ar, leader of the House of Tarrant and cousin to the Ubara Melisande shall ensure your services will be rendered when I call for it. The Ubarate of Ar is not your client. I am. I trust this will not be a problem?" He turned his gaze to Kanda and nodded his head to her. "Actually, the economics of Ar is increasing, to the point where prosperity is huge. Under the Moisant Ubarate, it seems the city is doing well."

[05:48 AM]  Kanda Veeper could listen to her Mate talk all day. Half the things that parted from His lips made sense to no one but Himself...but that did not sway her love of His words. "Hm. You really have a way of um...disciplining those drunk and not in agreement with You..." and so many smitings could have been avoided by carefully chosen word of men who due to drink had lost any ability to pick words carefully. "I was able to listen to the new Ubar give his address to the city yesterday. That man gives much away to the public about the state of things. The wealth currently held in Ar...its profits...are known. Amongst other things.." and she turned again toward her Mate now a bit confused by the offer to be hired to a single house of Ar. Purpose for such really not clear to her....but that was what shutting up and looking pretty was for...so Men could talk and divulge the answers to questions she could not ask"

[05:52 AM]  Jaym Wolfhunter 's eyes were calm..."When you have need of a Poem, its type of delivery as of yet to be determined...yes...I can see no ill in the nature of this...bargain..." He said..."Now, as you might or might not know...Cousin of the Ubara...of Ar" the Chieftain spoke..."Melisande has offered a substantial sum to the rapacious personage of the Alar...in this...what shall We call it...spat..." he said amused..."With Tyros...though I have yet to speak with the Ubarate in person...and so...no formalized agreement...has been reached" He said..."These two...contracts...are separate from each other...know that...as the converse continues" He said without rancor

[05:55 AM]  Trenzos Dyrssen nodded his head to Kanda. "Unfortunately I was busy in some other affairs, but yes, he believes in an open manner not unlike that of the Alars," he said, a deliberate attempt at flattery there. "Even so, the scope of Ar's existence was thwarted slightly by Tyros, as everyone knows. My interest though is in another matter altogether that's hardly associated with Melisande's dealings with you. Ubarates must react to what is heaped on their plate. But I am a visionary and it is inevitable that hostilities between Treve and Ar will resume sooner or later. So..." he leaned back and rubbed the back of his neck. "It is hardly my jurisdiction to tell you who you can or cannot work with. I am providing you with my purpose so you can get the job done easily. I am placing the pieces on the kaissa board now. In time, the game will start and the pieces will begin to move."

[05:58 AM]  Jaym Wolfhunter rubbed His hands together..."Then the world might well be ready...for the Alar Gambit!" He cried...He leaned in...and spoke as if in secrecy..."You see...one night, I had a dream...of a Gambit unmatched...whereby...the Alar who sat at either the yellow or the red...might swiftly take up the board...and smite the opponent upon the head with the heavy wooden block" He said ... "I Myself...felt it a stroke of genius...though, some...especially those fellows of the caste of players...might not think so...then again..." He said..."...they are not Alar" He added

[05:59 AM]  Kanda Veeper goes rather quiet and lets the arm still free of anything wrap tightly around her knees as she leans in with keen interest. It was an honour, or at least she considered it one that she was able to sit in on this sort of conversation between Men. She was not sure if the topics at hand might bore most women to tears but she was always fascinated by dealings between cities and now extremely curious as to why a house would hire those who had essentially been offered place to fight in Ar. It seemed to her that the only reasons for such would be the most ..juicy. She did take a guess though,...that both Men played Kaissa and the board was not here ..but up in the wagon.
[05:59 AM]  Kanda Veeper: "Let me know if You need me to go get ..the game.." she whispers over left

[06:01 AM]  Trenzos Dyrssen narrowed his eyebrows into a semblance of a frown at the Alar's words. Cor was a man who not only loved the game, he worshipped it. And to think... "Well, such a stroke of genius would be considered cheating," he countered. "Why, if someone did that, I would ensure the man become an outlaw." He shook his head once more and then looked over at Kanda. "But doubtless such talk would bore you, Lady."

[06:04 AM]  Jaym Wolfhunter 's hearty laughter was heard to bellow forth..."I have been called...so much worse..." He cried..."Outlawry...is often I think...something that is tied to the beliefs of a world that cannot deal with them..." He said...idle chatter for certain..."As for Cheating...well...You, Cor of Ar...do not make a living...as do the Alar...and such ...bending of the rules...are ways in which We fine fellows...ensure victory...and the contined judicious nature of the Alar...which superceedes...any sense of righteous indignation...leveled at us...by those of the cities" He said without malice...

[06:08 AM]  Kanda Veeper heard a squeal of children but it was not the comforting warm sort so she sticks her head out of the tent for an ihn and rolls her eyes before shouting down "Sorath!! You do not get to do that to girls until they are older!! Put her down.." and the motherly glare came out until it was done and she could return to adult conversation. "I..think i might have called You worse.." she chuckles. "Must be easy to follow every rule and law set forth when you live in the comfort and safety behind giant walls, though." she slips in before hushing herself once more so the Men could properly speak. It was amazing how poetry seemed to fall from her Mates lips with every word. Surely the Man Cor could be nothing short of impressed.

[06:10 AM]  Trenzos Dyrssen waved his hand dismissively. "Vernacular verbosity can only be comprehended through the most altruistic of notions, catered only to those who would cast away the shield of honour," he said. "But to be sure, I never was a man who liked carrying the shield around. Another reason why I rose caste." He chuckled slightly and rubbed his forehead. "Anyhow, it is best I take my leave, Jaym of the Alar. Business does not seem to warrant any notion of actually being busy without my presence, alas." He flicked his gaze towards the children and looked bemused for a moment. "Walls give me the priveledge to lead a life of comfort. It would be difficult to study obscure legends and the concepts of society when I worry more about having enough wood for a fire." He gestured towards the fireplace.

[06:13 AM]  Jaym Wolfhunter nodded to this amused...He spoke as rough fingers dragged through the mane atop His head...adding simply..."When next you see your cousin...give her the regards...of the Chieftain of the Alar..." He said casually...His eyes dancing merry and bright..."I wish you well enough...Cor of Ar...travel fast and low" He said...not rising...but simply turning His attention then...to matters of some import...He looked to His mate..."I am ravenous" He said

[06:15 AM]  Kanda Veeper blinks up and swears she missed something "You are going?" and she didn't think she had been off correcting offspring types for so long that she had missed and entire business deal. Perhaps she had been distracted and missed it since her own thoughts sometimes did get in the way "So wait...the Men are hired by him.." she motions to Cor "..and potentially to the city..but it's separate contracts?" She ...did not quite get it but had to attribute these things to her being a woman and lacking the ability to grasp. There were three words there though that sent her to her feet "Oh..wait...ravenous for ..food?" she just had to double check..

[06:15 AM]  Trenzos Dyrssen dipped his head to Jaym and Kanda. "I wish you well." At that, he turned away, heading through the camp and making his way into the fields of Eteocles.

[06:17 AM]  Jaym Wolfhunter nodded to this and patted the stomach once..."Hungry...for food...at the moment" was His reply..."As for the other matters...Worry not your pretty head...it is well in hand..." He said..."I will fill you in...later" He said amused

[06:19 AM]  Kanda Veeper gives a nod as well and bends down to place her lips gently to the scar under His left cheek "Then food..You shall have. I can go to the kitchen and get You something proper.." she didn't think the snacks closer by would solve the issue of ravenous. " I would appreciate the fill in. People ask me questions and i hate not knowing how best to answer them..if at all." and with that she spins on heel and heads out to do what she loved to do most..make Him..happier.

[06:19 AM]  Trenzos Dyrssen muttered to himself. "A Chieftain as a Poet?" he shook his head. "What next, a Player as an Ubar?" He kicked a pebble with his sandals and allowed his toes to meet it. Boots. Next time wear boots.
